Recently, in accordance with Florida and St John's Water Management regulations, the Wickham Forest Board of Directors employed B.S.E. Consultants to inspect the drains, lakes, and swales within Wickham Forest subdivision. The Inspector has identified the following issue as a potential restriction to stormwater flow: "Outfall swale from Structure #131 to Lake #4. Deficiencies include blocks placed in the swale, vegetation, numerous foot bridges and underdrain failure." His recommendation for this area is: "Clean and maintain all outfall swales. Outfall swales should at least be maintained to a level equivalent to a weed trimmer. Remove foot bridges." Items identified by the inspector included stepping stones across the swale, boards across the swale, excessive vegetation in the swale, and foot bridges across the swale. While some of these items seem minor in nature and only have limited impact on water flow, they present an obstacle to catch floating debris and restrict water flow. A foot bridge over the water doesn't seem like it will restrict flow, but it could catch a floating branch and create a debris damn. If your property includes the area of swale identified by the inspector. Please take the necessary action to inspect your property and correct any issues within the next 30 days. At that time, the Board of Directors will hire a contractor to correct all outstanding deficiencies identified in the report. A copy of the report can be obtained from the Reports section of this website. |

It has been observed on numerous occasions that residents and visitors of Wickham Forest are traveling on the wrong side of the traffic islands when entering our subdivision. This applies to all ages of drivers and throughout the days and evenings - it is not limited to a specific demographic. Please note that unless a traffic island is obstructed, driving around the wrong side is illegal and subject to a traffic violation by the Melbourne police. A few years ago a child was struck by a vehicle near one of the traffic islands. Residents on Forest Run Drive are encouraged to report to the police any time they witness a vehicle driving illegally around the traffic islands. A vehicle description and/or license plate is not necessary, although it is helpful for the police. Please call the police non-emergency phone number at 321-409-2200. Traffic patrols are determined by the number of complaints registered in a specific region. If more complaints are registered, then police patrols will be assigned to our subdivision to curb this behavior on a more frequent basis. For all residents, regardless of your speed, please be courteous to your neighbors on Forest Run Drive and take the extra few seconds to drive around the traffic islands as they are designated. Your cooperation is much appreciated. |

We have been informed by the Pebble Creek Homeowners Association that it Wickham Forest residents and/or guests are still trespassing on the Pebble Creek property between Forest Run and Pebble Creek. The retention pond between the subdivisions - and the land immediately around the pond - is Pebble Creek property.
Not only is this a property rights issue, it also is a liability issue if something should happen. Please respect their property right and stay away from the retention pond area. It is important that you don't let your children or guests trespass either. Just as we try to enforce our property rights, Pebble Creek has the right to protect theirs. We call the police when we observe non-residents trespassing, and should expect PC to take the same action. Any signs along the retention area are PC property and should not be tampered with or destroyed. These signs were not installed to be adversarial. They were installed to inform people where the property line is and what the rules are concerning the area. Please show Pebble Creek the same respect that we expect to receive from them and our other neighbors. They are not trying to be disagreeable. They are trying to maintain their own property - just as we do.
