Restoration work on the front entrance has started.  It started with Board members Frank Bishop, Mary Greenfield, Lane Smith, and Ed Clark tearing out out stone on the South side of the street.  The stones were saved and used to restore the main sign on the North side.  Below are pictures of the progress to date...

This was reported by Mike Mistretta who lives on Woodhaven Drive.

This happened about 2 months ago. It was the night of the shuttle landing , right after the sonic boom I heard a crash in the bathroom so I opened the door and there it was , not moving. I thought my son put a fake snake there to mess with me but it was real ! 5 minutes earlier my sons girlfriend was in the bathroom , can you imagine sitting there and all of a sudden .....surprise..surprise??

snake in WF

Would you want to meet this in your bathroom at night?

Bobcat in Wickham Forest PDF Print E-mail

This picture was provided by a homeowner on Forest Run.

Bobcat in WF

This picture was taken through the screen so it's pretty grainy.  My husband would have used his telephoto lens but didn't figure he had time to change out the lenses.  We live on Forest Run and this is directly behind our house.  Teenagers cut through here all the time going from Wickham Forest to Pebble Creek and back.  The bobcat eventually exited into the protected scrub jay area.  This is the first siting we've had.

ARC Update PDF Print E-mail

I would like share some information that will help make the review and approval process for your next project as quick and painless as possible. The ARC meets the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm. Homeowners are welcome to come to any meeting. All  visible exterior changes to your home or property need to be reviewed by the ARC, even things such as repainting the same colors, adding hurricane shutters or replacing old fencing. The ARC must approve all projects before they can be started.  To have your project reviewed, you must submit an application form that documents your intended changes.  Please include as much information as you can, and include samples if possible.  Applications can be downloaded from the Wickham Forest website or you can call me or email me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and I'll get a copy to you. You can drop off your applications at my home (save postage) or mail them to the ARC. Attach all supporting documents such as survey drawings, building permits and color/material samples. The Architectural Review Committee must first be sure that your proposed change is allowed by the current WFHOA Deed Restrictions and Covenants, developed " for the purpose of protecting the value and desirability of the Subdivision and made for the mutual benefit of each and every Owner of a lot".
To get your project approved, three of the five committee members must vote to approve your request. Projects cannot be approved when: 1) the homeowner doesn’t provide enough information about the project, 2) required setbacks or height restrictions aren’t met, 3) the chosen materials aren’t allowed by the covenants, 4) the colors are inconsistent with the color scheme of the neighborhood (which can be described as light-to-medium neutral and conservative or 5) the colors clash with each other or with surrounding homes. The best advice I can give homeowners is to email me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) when you get that next great home improvement idea.  I'll be happy t o guide you through the process of getting ARC approval for your specific project.
