It has been observed on numerous occasions that residents and visitors of Wickham Forest are traveling on the wrong side of the traffic islands when entering our subdivision.  This applies to all ages of drivers and throughout the days and evenings - it is not limited to a specific demographic.  Please note that unless a traffic island is obstructed, driving around the wrong side is illegal and subject to a traffic violation by the Melbourne police.  A few years ago a child was struck by a vehicle near one of the traffic islands.  Residents on Forest Run Drive are encouraged to report to the police any time they witness a vehicle driving illegally around the traffic islands.  A vehicle description and/or license plate is not necessary, although it is helpful for the police.  Please call the police non-emergency phone number at 321-409-2200.  Traffic patrols are determined by the number of complaints registered in a specific region.  If more complaints are registered, then police patrols will be assigned to our subdivision to curb this behavior on a more frequent basis.  For all residents, regardless of your speed, please be courteous to your neighbors on Forest Run Drive and take the extra few seconds to drive around the traffic islands as they are designated.  Your cooperation is much appreciated.
